We have a very special addition to the schedule for our December meeting. World renowned photographer Amos Nachoum will share the art of capturing images of big animals both above and below the waves. Amos will show photographs of polar bears, whales, sharks and other big animals. He will talk about the planning and techniques he uses to capture these amazing images.
Amos Nachoum is well respected for his spectacular photographs of big animals. He has traveled the world from pole to pole on his “Big Animals Photography Expeditions”. Many of these expeditions have been the subject of numerous magazine stories and TV specials. His stunning images have been published worldwide and he has won the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year award twice. Amos is committed to sharing his knowledge with fellow photographers and obviously has the credentials to do so. You can learn more about amos on his website.
Two museum quality 24”x36” prints of Amos' work will be auctioned off during the meeting. The prints are signed and numbered, valued & sold at national Galleries for $2,500. The bidding will start at only $250. The money will benefit the Shark Research Institute. Also one print will be given away as a door prize.
As always, the admission to the event is free, but only by RSVP. Please RSVP to rsvp@NYUPS.org.
We look forward to a great presentation by Amos, and having one last evening of underwater photography together before the end of 2009!
