October Meeting - The Color RED

Due to the properties of water, RED is the first color to disappear from the spectrum as we descend. Many times our subject looks like a muted shade of gray, but then burst into its true brilliant color when bathed in our strobe lights.

So we dedicate the October meeting to the color RED.

Weather you are shooting with a point & shoot or full frame DSLR come to the next NYUPS meeting and show how you captured the color RED in all its splendor.

We encourage you to submit up to 10 of your favorite shots that feature the color RED as a primary theme.

IMAGE SPECS: The ideal size of each landscape orientation image is 10” wide x 7.5” high - no larger. If an image is portrait, the image should be no more than 7.5” high x whatever width (certainly less than 10”.) If you size your images by pixels, the images should be a maximum of 720 pixels wide by 540 pixels high for landscape, and 540 pixels high for portrait. All images should be 72 DPI, or pixels per inch, and .JPG file type.

If you would like to submit "Red Videos", please bring them to the meeting as Quicktime files on flash drive, CD or DVD. Videos should be clips less then 5 minutes each.

In your email, on the subject line please type in caps “NYUPS images- RED". Please email all your images to Steve Edelstein at unclstevie@aol.com.

Date of submission: Images will be cheerfully accepted for the upcoming meeting until the Sunday evening before the meeting. Any images submitted after that cannot be included. You will receive a confirmation of the receipt of your images. If you don’t, please contact Steve Edelstein, and cc Larry Cohen at Larry@liquidimagesuw.com

Please note that you do not need to submit images to attend the meeting - feel free to just come and enjoy the images! We want to stress that all of our meetings are for photographers of all levels. It doesn't matter what camera you use or how long you've been shooting, NYUPS wants to share the joys of underwater imaging with everyone interested.
