When posting you will notice that the text editor works in a slightly different way than you might be used to. When formatting text (for example to make a word bold), you will notice that rather than seeing the formatting as you are writing, that the editor will add some HTML code to your posting. This is the way it works, just do not modify the code that the system adds and it will end up formatted the way you want once it is submitted.

Same thing goes for adding images and links: The system does import images and links in your postings.

Adding Images

use the image icon icon in the toolbar, you can either upload an image or enter a url and it will import it. You won't see the image as you are uploading it, only the HTML code. Again, do not modify this code. Once you submit the comment or posting, voila you will see your image. For example here is an image I added by grabbing a url on DPG, clicking n the image icon above in the comments toolbar and it adds some HTML code to my comment, only when I submit it will I see it on this post. There is a link on the image uploader for "options", this will alow you to change the way that the image sits in the posting (centered versus text wrapped around it for example)

Adding Links
When adding links you should highlight the text that you want linked, click on the link icon in the toolbar above, and add the url. Again, you will see some HTML code added to your posting - please do not modify it. You can continue to write your posting and once submitted you will see the link. For example, here is a link to the main FAQ group here on NYUPS.org.

Please feel free to post questions or email an admin if you need assistance. It's really pretty easy and only takes walking through it once to end any confusion that you may have.
