April 2013 Meeting: Blue Water (4/9/2013)
Please note that this is the second Tuesday of the month!
In honor of our last speakers on Oceanic Whitetip Sharks in Cat Islands, Debra and Vincent Canabal, owners of Epic Diving, and their wonderful deep water diving trips, our topic this for April is "Blue Water". Send in your photos using as loose an interpretation of "Blue Water" as you'd like!
The ideal size of each landscape orientation image is 10” wide x 7.5” high – no larger. If an image is portrait, the image should be no more than 7.5” high x whatever width (certainly less than 10”.) If you size your images by pixels, the images should be a maximum of 720 pixels wide by 540 pixels high for landscape, and 540 pixels high for portrait.
All images should be 72 DPI, or pixels per inch, and .JPG files. If you would like to submit videos, please bring them to the meeting as Quicktime files on a flash drive, CD or DVD. Videos should be clips less then 5 minutes each. In your email, on the subject line please type in caps “NYUPS images: Dive Buddy.” Please email all your images to Steve Edelstein at firstname.lastname@example.org, and CC Larry Cohen at email@example.com.
DATE OF SUBMISSION-
Please submit images before April 2nd. Any images submitted after that cannot be included. You will receive a confirmation of the receipt of your images. If you don’t, please contact Steve Edelstein at firstname.lastname@example.org, and cc Larry Cohen at Larry@liquidimagesuw.com.
Please note that you do not need to submit images to attend the meeting – feel free to just come and enjoy the images, share and learn a little about improving your dive buddy photography techniques! We want to stress that all of our meetings are for photographers of all levels. It doesn't matter what camera you use or how long you've been shooting, NYUPS wants to share the joys of underwater imaging with everyone interested.
A reminder – this is not a competition. The idea is to share photos that you think will help others and yourself learn. It might even be helpful to try and recall the camera settings, whether you have a compact or big ol’ SLR. We look forward to seeing your images and sharing food and drink with you at Artctica Bar & Grill On Tuesday, April 9th!
