One of the coolest things about being able to explore the world under the waves is seeing how its inhabitants behave.
At the August NYUPS meeting, let’s see your favorite “behavior” images. Few pictures are as exciting as those that give insight into underwater behavior- how fish move, interact, hide, communicate, and even work together to a common goal. To ensure that everyone gets their moment in the spotlight, there will be a new rule for submissions: we suggest around ten submissions, but no matter how many images you show please present them in no more than five minutes.
The ideal size of each landscape orientation image is 10” wide x 7.5” high – no larger. If an image is portrait, the image should be no more than 7.5” high x whatever width (certainly less than 10”.) If you size your images by pixels, the images should be a maximum of 720 pixels wide by 540 pixels high for landscape, and 540 pixels high for portrait.
All images should be 72 DPI, or pixels per inch, and .JPG file type. If you would like to submit "Videos", please bring them to the meeting as Quicktime files on flash drive, CD or DVD. Videos should be clips less then 5 minutes each. In your email, on the subject line please type in caps “NYUPS images – Behavior!"
Please email all your images to Steve Edelstein at firstname.lastname@example.org
Date of submission-
Images will be cheerfully accepted for the upcoming meeting until 7/29/11, or the last Friday in July. Any images submitted after that cannot be included. You will receive a confirmation of the receipt of your images. If you don’t, please contact Steve Edelstein at email@example.com, and cc Larry Cohen at Larry@liquidimagesuw.com.
Please note that you do not need to submit images to attend the meeting – feel free to just come and enjoy the social! We want to stress that all of our meetings are for photographers of all levels. It doesn't matter what camera you use or how long you've been shooting, NYUPS wants to share the joys of underwater imaging with everyone interested.
As always, the admission to the event is free, but only by RSVP.Please RSVP to rsvp@NYUPS.org. We look forward to seeing your images and sharing food and drink with you at Artctica Bar & Grill!!
