We are back to our regular schedule of the first Tuesday of every month. At last month's meeting Mat, Jason and Larry shared their sailfish images captured in Mexico. At the March NYUPS lets see your images of Big Marine Animals! From the Manatees of Florida to the Mola molas of Bali, the world’s waterways are filled with giant wonderful creatures. Show us up to 10 images of these magnificent animals.
The ideal size of each landscape orientation image is 10” wide x 7.5” high – no larger. If an image is portrait, the image should be no more than 7.5” high x whatever width (certainly less than 10”.) If you size your images by pixels, the images should be a maximum of 720 pixels wide by 540 pixels high for landscape, and 540 pixels high for portrait. All images should be 72 DPI, or pixels per inch, and .JPG file type.
If you would like to submit "Videos", please bring them to the meeting as Quicktime files on flash drive, CD or DVD. Videos should be clips less then 5 minutes each. Please email us if you are going to bring a video.
In your email, on the subject line please type in caps “NYUPS images – “Big Animals”
Please email all your images to Steve Edelstein at
Date of submission-
Images will be cheerfully accepted for the upcoming meeting until 02/27/11 the Sunday before the meeting. Any images submitted after that cannot be included. You will receive a confirmation of the receipt of your images. If you don’t, please contact Steve Edelstein at , and cc Larry Cohen at
Please note that you do not need to submit images to attend the meeting – feel free to just come and enjoy the social! We want to stress that all of our meetings are for photographers of all levels. It doesn't matter what camera you use or how long you've been shooting, NYUPS wants to share the joys of underwater imaging with everyone interested.
As always, the admission to the event is free, but only by RSVP. Please RSVP to:
