NYUPS is committed to helping underwater photographers improve and getting more divers into underwater photography. In-order to meet this goal NYUPS will be presenting a free seminar series at some of our upcoming monthly meetings. We will start with the basics and work our way up to advanced techniques. Throughout the year, our meetings will include these seminars, featured speakers, as well as the themed “show & tell” format that has become so popular.
At the March 2nd NYUPS meeting, Larry Cohen will kick off the seminar series with “Getting Started in Underwater Photography”. He will talk about why wide-angle and macro lenses are so important. He will also cover basic lighting and color corrections. The seminar will cover both Point & Shoot, and SLR camera systems. The seminar will cover what gear is needed, and basic techniques when starting out.
Please note that in addition to those who want to learn about getting started in underwater photography, we welcome all experienced underwater photographers and NYUPS regulars to attend the meeting. Come enjoy the social aspect of NYUPS and also take part in the discussion and share your ideas and techniques with the newbies.
NYUPS wants to share the joys of underwater imaging with everyone interested. So invite all your friends, new photographers, and divers who are thinking about getting into underwater photography. Maybe you want a quick refresher yourself. Everyone can benefit from this evening.
As always, the admission to the event is free, but only by RSVP. Please RSVP to rsvp@NYUPS.org. We look forward to seeing everyone and sharing food and drink with you at Artctica Bar & Grill!
