- Arctica Bar & Grill

The digital photography work flow has given us many ways of refining our images after we push the shutter release. We can change the original image in the computer using a number of techniques including changing the color, combining images with layers, and using different filters. Sometimes the change is barely noticeable, other times it can be drastic. At the January NYUPS meeting show us your original image and then what you did to improve it. This could be anything from a B&W conversion to using layers to create an abstract image. Please submit the original as well as the improved image and be prepared to talk about how and why you made these changes.
We encourage you to submit up to 10 of your improved images along with the original.
IMAGE SPECS: The ideal size of each landscape orientation image is 10” wide x 7.5” high – no larger. If an image is portrait, the image should be no more than 7.5” high x whatever width (certainly less than 10”.) If you size your images by pixels, the images should be a maximum of 720 pixels wide by 540 pixels high for landscape, and 540 pixels high for portrait. All images should be 72 DPI, or pixels per inch, and .JPG file type.
If you would like to submit "Videos", please bring them to the meeting as Quicktime files on flash drive, CD or DVD. Videos should be clips less then 5 minutes each.
In your email, on the subject line please type in caps “NYUPS images – "Better than the Original".
Please email all your images to Steve Edelstein at firstname.lastname@example.org.
DATE OF SUBMISSION: Images will be cheerfully accepted for the upcoming meeting until the Sunday evening before the meeting. Any images submitted after that cannot be included. You will receive a confirmation of the receipt of your images. If you don’t, please contact Steve Edelstein, and cc Larry Cohen at Larry@liquidimagesuw.com
Please note that you do not need to submit images to attend the meeting – feel free to just come and enjoy the social! We want to stress that all of our meetings are for photographers of all levels. It doesn't matter what camera you use or how long you've been shooting, NYUPS wants to share the joys of underwater imaging with everyone interested.
