Ever taken underwater pictures? Then you know it’s no easy feat. From beginning shooters to full-fledged pros, we all struggle at times improving our underwater imagery.
That’s why at the May NYUPS we will be hosting our first-ever “Image Critique Session.” The goal is to provide an opportunity to learn from your fellow underwater shooters what parts of images people liked and what you could have done differently.
Unlike other meetings, there will be no “theme” for images submitted. Instead, we ask you to submit about 5 images that you feel something could have been improved or changed. We will not be harshly criticizing your images; rather, we will draw on the wonderful cross section of NYUPS members to provide constructive criticism.
The ideal size of each landscape orientation image is 10” wide x 7.5” high, with individual file sizes being no larger than 1 MB. Please email your five images to Joe Tepper at joe@divephotoguide with the subject line “NYUPS Images—Critique.”
If you would like to submit videos, please bring them to the meeting as Quicktime files on flash drive, CD or DVD. Videos should be clips less then 5 minutes each.
The deadline for your ten best images is May 5. After that, we cannot accept anymore entries (without free beers for the NYUPS crew). Once you send in images, you will receive confirmation within 48 hours. If you do not, or have any questions, please call the NYUPS hotline: 847-951-0623.
We hope to see you and your wonderful images at the NYUPS 2013 Image Critique Session on Tuesday, May 7.
