- Arctica Bar & Grill
384 3rd Ave (27th & 28th st), New York, NY, United States
It's Macro Month for NYUPS. Let's start the summer out big with images of little subjects. We invite you to submit your favorite macro images to share with the group. As with past events, we'll have an informal discussion on the images while we have some eats and some drinks at the Arctica Bar and Grill. All are welcomed.
The ideal size of each landscape orientation image is 10” wide x 7.5” high – no larger. If an image is portrait, the image should be no more than 7.5” high x whatever width (certainly less than 10”.) If you size your images by pixels, the images should be a maximum of 720 pixels wide by 540 pixels high for landscape, and 540 pixels high for portrait.
All images should be 72 DPI, or pixels per inch, and .JPG files. If you would like to submit videos, please bring them to the meeting as Quicktime files on a flash drive, CD or DVD. Videos should be clips less then 5 minutes each. In your email, on the subject line please type in caps “NYUPS IMAGES: MACRO.” Please email all your images to Matt Weiss at Matt@DivePhotoGuide.com and CC Larry Cohen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
DATE OF SUBMISSION-
Please submit images before June 3rd. Any images submitted after that cannot be included. You will receive a confirmation of the receipt of your images. If you don’t, please contact Matt.
Please note that you do not need to submit images to attend the meeting – feel free to just come and enjoy the images, share and learn a little about improving your dive buddy photography techniques! We want to stress that all of our meetings are for photographers of all levels. It doesn't matter what camera you use or how long you've been shooting, NYUPS wants to share the joys of underwater imaging with everyone interested.
A reminder – this is not a competition. The idea is to share photos that you think will help others and yourself learn. It might even be helpful to try and recall the camera settings, whether you have a compact or big ol’ SLR. We look forward to seeing your images and sharing food and drink with you at Artctica Bar & Grill On Tuesday, April 9th!
