Without question, one of the most photographic subjects ever to walk swim this earth is the shark, and it is without doubt that Joe Romeiro is one of the world’s best when it comes to filming these amazing animals.
We are proud to announce that at a special March NYUPS meeting, we will be hearing from Joe Romerio, a shark filmmaker with a knack for creating dramatic shark films with important messages . Joe will talk about his decades of experience of filming sharks and show us some of his favorite award winning short films.
Most notable awards received include: the prestigious Blue Ocean Film Festival's "Best New Filmmaker" and "Best New Cinematographer" in 2009, ADEX "Underwater Video of the Year Award" in 2010, and the "Ocean Inspiration Award" in 2011, awarded by a panel of esteemed judges and industry professionals in a video competition sponsored by Celine Cousteau, honoring the life of her Grandfather, Jacques Cousteau. More information on Joe can be found on his website.
Please note that this special meeting also has a special time: THURSDAY, MARCH 22ND at Arctica Bar and Grill. REPEAT: This is NOT our normal time! Because this meeting will likely draw significant interest from those in town to attend the Beneath the Sea show that weekend we will be requiring an RSVP for all those wishing to attend. The event space only holds 40, so make sure to RSVP to Matt@divephotoguide.com as soon as you can type! Matt will respond with a confirmation that he has received your RSVP.
We look forwarding to seeing you and watching some great shark films on THURSDAY, MARCH 22 (again – not our normal day)!
