NYUPS is proud to continue our free underwater photography seminar series with a special wide angle seminar by renowned underwater photographer (and NYUPS president) Jason Heller.

Most underwater photographers learn very quickly is that shooting wide angle has a steeper learning curve than macro photography. But with these challenges come rewards. Few alternatives draw more emotion than a dramatic wide angle underwater image.

Jason will walk attendees through the techniques for shooting different types of wide angle images, help you understand camera settings for different conditions, and provide practical tips on how to master lighting.

Jason will provide composition ideas and many tips and techniques to improve your wide angle photography the very next time you hit the water.

Some of the topics include:

- Equipment considerations for compact and SLR shooters

- How to balance strobe and ambient light

- How to shoot close focus wide angle

- How to shoot reefscapes

- How to capture motion in your images

- How to shoot big animals

- How to work with "models" in your shots

NYUPS is committed to helping all budding underwater photographers in the tri-state area become better photographers. So invite all your dive buddies, it doesn't matter if they are new or seasoned photographers, or just thinking about getting into the hobby. Jason's seminar will be as entertaining as it is informative.

Admission to the event is free, but only by RSVP. Please RSVP to rsvp@NYUPS.org.

We look forward to seeing everyone and sharing food and drink with you at Arctica Bar & Grill
