Growing up in Maryland around the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries, helped me to acquired an enormous interest in all aquatic life. My desire to be part of the aquatic world grew in 1978 when I started free diving and scuba diving and by 1982 I was teaching others about my passion. Since then, I have made it my life's goal to share the underwater world with others through teaching and photography. In 1990, my wife Maureen and I founded our own business, Aqua Ventures, which specializes in scuba training, equipment and dive travel. In 2002, I became one of fewer than 200 scuba instructors in the world to receive Scuba Schools International's highest teaching award, The Platinum Pro 5000 Instructor card and in 2008 I received S.S.I.'s highest diver award, The Platinum Pro 5000 Diver card. Although I have dove and photographed up and down the east coast from Maine to Florida and from the Caribbean to the South Pacific, my specialty has been taking images of the not so often photographed fish and waterways of my home state of Maryland. My underwater images have been displayed over the years in many local photography shows and have been published in the Baltimore Sun, Washington Post, Delaware Beach Life and other local publications.

What Was Your Favorite Dive Ever?
There have been too many great dives to pick a favorite but diving with a pod of over 500 dolphins in the Galapagos Islands, free diving with a whale shark in the Sea of Cortez, drift diving through a forest of soft corals at a depth of 140' in Fiji and penetrating over 2000' back into a cave system in Florida rank near the top of my favorites list.
